Shimano Dialuna Spinning 96 7-38g 2pc The Distance Casting Authority

The Shimano Dialuna S96M is a high-performance inshore masterpiece, specifically engineered for the sea bass angler who demands extreme casting distance without sacrificing finesse. At Gerrys Fishing, we categorize the 96 (2.90m) model as the long-range versatile choice. It is long enough to clear surf and coastal structures, yet balanced enough to work lures with precision throughout a long session.

This rod is built using Shimanos premium JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) technologies, featuring a fast-recovery blank that eliminates vibration during the cast. This ensures your lureswhether they are surface sliders or heavy metal jigsreach distant feeding fish with minimal effort.

Key Specifications

Product Details & Uses

• Spiral X & Hi-Power X Blank: This dual-layer carbon construction provides a lightweight and incredibly strong blank. Spiral X eliminates ovalization and blank twist, while Hi-Power X ensures that the rod tracks perfectly straight during the cast, resulting in superior accuracy and distance.

• Carbon Monocoque Handle: The hollow carbon handle acts as a resonance chamber, amplifying vibrations from the lure and the line directly into your hand. This is particularly effective for feeling the tick of a sea bass taking a soft plastic on a slack line.

• Fuji SiC K-Type Guides: These tangle-free guides are essential for long-distance casting with thin braided lines. The Silicon Carbide (SiC) inserts are ultra-smooth and dissipate heat quickly, protecting your line during high-speed casts and intense fights.

• Progressive Loading Action: The Dialuna is designed to load deeply into the blank during the cast. This progressive action allows the rod to do the work, launching lures in the 7-38g range significantly further than standard spinning rods.

• Versatile Coastal Tool: While optimized for sea bass, the 7-38g rating makes this rod an excellent choice for light shore jigging, targeting pollack from the rocks, or even spinning for salmon in large estuaries.

Gerrys Pro Tip: The 96 M is the sweet spot for UK coastal fishing. It gives you the extra height needed to keep your line above the waves in a swell, but it is much lighter and more responsive than traditional bass sticks. Pair this with a 3000 or 4000 size Exsence or Stradic for a perfectly balanced, long-casting setup.
