Shimano Sienna AR TEGT Wrap 2.70m 30-60g 5pc

Shimano Sienna AR TEGT Wrap 2.70m (30-60g) | The Rugged Compact All-Rounder

At Gerrys Fishing, we find that many anglers want the portability of a telescopic rod without sacrificing the backbone needed for bigger fish. The Shimano Sienna AR TEGT Wrap in the 30-60g version is the perfect answer. Built on a lightweight Full Carbon blank, it offers a much higher level of responsiveness and power than your average telescopic rod, making it a reliable choice for both fresh and saltwater environments.

This 2.70m (approx. 8.8ft) model is the heavy-hitter of the shorter lengths. By combining a shorter, manageable frame with a punchy 30-60g casting weight, Shimano has created a rod that is agile enough for tight riverbanks but strong enough to launch heavier lures, lead weights, or large floats.

Versatile Power in a Portable Package

• Full Carbon Blank: The AX Full Carbon construction ensures the rod remains lightweight and slim while offering exceptional strength. Unlike heavy glass-fibre rods, this blank provides crisp feedback, allowing you to feel exactly what your lure or bait is doing.

• Classic Cork Handle: Enhancing both comfort and aesthetics, the quality cork handle provides a timeless look and a warm, non-slip gripa rare feature on telescopic rods at this price point.

• Moderate-Fast Action: This action is the sweet spot for versatility. Its stiff enough to set hooks at a distance but has a progressive curve that makes casting easier and prevents hook-pulls when a fish is thrashing near the net.

• Shimano Hardlite Guides: The rod is fitted with stainless steel Hardlite guides. These are fully saltwater safe and exceptionally durable, making the rod a true go-anywhere tool for piers, beaches, or lakes.

Use Example: From Pier Spinning to River Ledgering

Imagine you are traveling light along the coast. You want to spend an hour spinning for Mackerel or Bass with a 40g metal jig, but then you find a quiet harbor corner where you want to drop a weighted bait for Flatfish or Wrasse.

The 2.70m Sienna AR is perfect for this multi-style approach. Its 30-60g rating handles the weight of the jig perfectly, while the 2.70m length gives you enough leverage to cast past the weed line. Because it collapses down to a compact 94cm, you can easily move between spots. When you switch to a bottom rig, the sensitive carbon blank transmits those sharp, rattling bites clearly to your hand, ensuring you dont miss a thing.
