Westin W3 Livecast-T 3rd Generation Casting Rod 68 MH (30-80g)

The Westin W3 Livecast-T 3rd Generation 68 MH (Casting) is the compact, purpose-built rod for the modern angler utilizing live sonar and forward-facing echo sounder technology. This rod is engineered for unmatched sensitivity and ultimate short-range control when presenting lures directly under the beam.

Built on a lightweight and ultra-responsive Torayca high-performance carbon blank, this rod features a fast action and Medium Heavy (MH) power, offering the perfect blend of strength and finesse for heavy jigs and weighted softbaits while ensuring pinpoint precision.

Features & Angler Benefits

• Live Sonar Optimization: Purpose-built action and extreme sensitivity allow you to track your lure and react instantly to fish behavior visible on your sonar screen, maximizing hook-up ratios in real-time fishing scenarios.

• Compact Control: The 68 length is ideal for short, vertical presentations and micro-movements needed when fishing directly beneath the transducer. This length maximizes leverage for the angler and minimizes rod tip interference.

• Medium Heavy Power (MH): The 3080g casting weight is perfect for presenting heavy jigs, weighted softbaits, and spoons, giving you the power to handle larger baits for pike and big zander while maintaining excellent feel.

• Ultra-Responsive Fast Action: Delivers the pinpoint precision needed for vertical presentations and micro-adjustments in the mid-column. The fast action provides instant feedback, ensuring a rapid, effective hook-set.

• Unmatched Sensitivity: The Torayca carbon blank provides the ultimate feel, allowing you to stay in continuous contact with your lure and detect the most tentative bites under the water column.

• Baitcaster Optimized: Perfectly complimented by a size 200 Westin BaitCaster reel, this combination provides the ideal ergonomics and line control for single-handed lure adjustments and maximum comfort during long sessions.

Ideal Fishing Applications

The 68 length, Medium Heavy (MH) power, and fast action make this rod highly specialized for live sonar casting techniques:

1. Direct Vertical Jigging:

   • Technique: Fishing heavy jigs, spoons, or weighted softbaits directly to suspended fish visible on live sonar.

   • Benefit: The short length provides superior control and leverage for quick lure lifts and immediate hook-sets.

2. Boat Control & Maneuverability:

   • Technique: Fishing in small boat spaces or when the lure must be presented immediately next to the boat hull.

   • Benefit: The compact size is easy to manage and reduces fatigue during dynamic lure working.

3. Heavy Perch and Zander:

   • Technique: Targeting the largest perch and deep-water zander with heavier lures in the 30-80g range.

   • Benefit: The sensitivity transmits every bite, while the power ensures the fish are controlled once hooked.
