Gemini Disgorger

Gemini Disgorger Professional Hook Removal Tool

The Gemini Disgorger is widely regarded by sea and match anglers as one of the most effective and reliable de-hooking tools on the market. Precision-engineered to handle the tough conditions of saltwater angling, this tool is designed to make hook removal fast, safe, and efficient.

Unlike standard plastic disgorgers that can flex or fail, the Gemini version features a unique head design that locks onto the line and slides directly to the bend of the hook. This allows for a clean push and turn motion that frees the hook instantly, significantly reducing handling time and ensuring the fish is returned to the water with minimal stress.

Pro Tip from Gerrys Fishing

Pro Tip: For the most effective use, always keep the line under slight tension. Slide the Gemini Disgorger down the line until you feel it seat into the bend of the hook. A firm, short push followed by a slight twist will pop the hook free. By keeping the line taut, you prevent the hook from re-snagging on the way out of the fishs mouth.

Examples of Where to Use

• Shore Angling: Ideal for when species like whiting, flatfish, or pouting have taken a bait deep. The reach of the disgorger ensures you can unhook them without damaging delicate gills.

• Boat Fishing: Perfect for rapid unhooking during a frenzy or when fish are coming over the gunwales quickly, allowing you to get your baits back into the water faster.

• Match Fishing: A essential tool for competitive anglers where every second counts. Its works every time reliability ensures no time is wasted fumbling with difficult hooks.

• Catch & Release: The best choice for the conservation-minded angler; it minimizes the time the fish spends out of the water and prevents the tearing of mouth tissue.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can this handle large sea hooks?

The Gemini Disgorger is designed to be versatile. While it excels at standard shore-fishing hook sizes (from size 6 up to 2/0), the head is robust enough to deal with the thicker wire gauges found in modern sea tackle.

Is it easy to use in the dark?

Yes. The tactile design allows you to feel the line into the slot of the disgorger easily. Because the head design is so positive, you can often unhook fish by feel alone when your headtorch isnt pointed directly at the fish.

Will it damage my line?

No. The surfaces of the Gemini Disgorger are polished and smooth. As long as you dont use excessive force, it will glide over monofilament and fluorocarbon without causing nicks or abrasions.
