Tenryu Namija 960 MH 9’6 10-40g Lure Rod

Tenryu Namija 960 MH | The Ultimate Long-Range Tactical Tool

When you pick up a Tenryu Namija 960 MH, you arent just holding a fishing rod; youre holding a masterclass in Japanese engineering. Finished in that iconic Trademark Red, the Namija 960 MH is built for the angler who refuses to compromise on distance, sensitivity, or stopping power.

At Gerrys Fishing, weve seen plenty of all-rounders, but the Namija is in a league of its own. Its a precision instrument designed to punch lures through a coastal gale while maintaining the delicate feel required to detect a shy pluck from a bass in deep water. Whether you are working a surface slider or bouncing a soft plastic over broken ground, this rod transmits every vibration directly to your hand.

Where to Use: Recommended Scenarios

The versatility of the 960 MH makes it a powerhouse across both saltwater and freshwater environments:

• Shore-Based Bass Fishing: This is the rods natural home. The 96 length is the Goldilocks zonelong enough to clear the surf and rocks on a massive cast, but light enough to work a patchinko or needlefish for hours without fatigue.

• Large River Zander: If youre targeting big Zeds in the heavy flows of the Trent or the Severn, the Very Fast action is a game-changer. It provides the backbone needed to set a hook instantly in deep water and the sensitivity to feel the substrate.

• Deep-Water Rock Marks: When fishing over heavy kelp or snaggy ground, you need the 40g overhead capability to launch heavier weighted soft plastics and the MH (Medium Heavy) power to turn a fishs head before it dives for cover.

• Estuary Mouths: Perfect for long-distance casting into the rip where tide meets current, allowing you to reach fish that others simply cant get to.
