Where to Use the Axia Aluminium Pliers

• On the Boat: The corrosion-resistant aluminium body makes these a staple for offshore anglers who need a tool that wont rust after one salty session.

• Rock & Surf Fishing: Lightweight enough to carry in a holster or clipped to a belt for long treks along the coast.

• Catch & Release: The precision long-nose jaws allow for quick, clean hook removals, significantly reducing the stress on the fish and increasing survival rates.

• Rig Adjustments: Use the side-mounted cutters to trim heavy fluorocarbon or wire traces instantly while setting up for a new mark.

Gerrys Pro Tip

Dont just use these for hook removal! The integrated tungsten carbide cutters on the side are incredibly sharp. They are designed to slice through heavy-duty braid and wire traces like butter. To keep these pliers performing at their peak for years, give the pivot point a tiny drop of multi-purpose oil once a month. This keeps the spring-loaded action snapping open smoothly every time you reach for them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these pliers saltwater resistant?

Yes. The aluminium body is naturally resistant to corrosion, and the stainless steel jaw inserts are designed for marine use. However, we always recommend a fresh-water rinse after a day on the sea.

Do they come with a lanyard?

While the pliers feature dedicated lanyard holes in the handle for security, lanyards are usually sold separately. This allows you to choose the length and style that fits your specific setup.

Can the cutting blades be replaced?

The high-quality tungsten carbide cutters are designed to stay sharp for a long time, but they are generally replaceable should they eventually wear down after heavy wire use.

Are they comfortable for small hands?

Absolutely. The 17cm (6.5) size is the Goldilocks lengthlarge enough for leverage on big hooks, but compact and ergonomic enough for a comfortable grip for all anglers
