Bassday Sugar Pen 95F Floating Lure 8.5 grams MT-14

95mm | 8.5g | Floating | Hardbait

The Bassday Sugar Pen 95F Floating Lure 8.5 grams MT-14 is a floating pencil-style hard lure made for working the top of the water column rather than digging down like a minnow.

The point of a Sugar Pen is control: you can walk it, skip it, twitch it, or let it pause in place when fish follow but do not commit.

Because it floats, the lure stays available to fish that are hunting upward.

Small rod taps make it dart side to side, while a steadier retrieve keeps it moving like a baitfish trying to escape across the surface.

The pause is important.

A lot of surface bites come when the lure stops looking perfect and starts looking vulnerable.

At 95mm | 8.5g | Floating | Hardbait, this version is best used for inshore shorelines, estuary flats, breakwalls, canal edges, and baitfish schools close to the surface.

It gives enough presence for its size without becoming a loud, clumsy surface lure.

Fish it slowly when the water is calm or the fish are cautious, and speed it up when bait is scattering and predators are already fired up.

It will not move as much water as a popper, so in dirty water or strong chop you may need a louder surface lure.

Because this variant is mainly identified by its finish name/code, the safest way to think about it is by visibility on the day.

Use it when the contrast matches your water and light level, and switch to a brighter or more natural finish when the conditions clearly call for it.

TARGET SPECIES: sea bass, trevally, queenfish, bluefish, flatfish, mangrove jack, snapper, and other inshore predators feeding around bait.
