Daiwa 24 Certate LT2500D-H

Daiwa 24 Certate LT2500D-H

The Daiwa 24 Certate LT2500D-H is the ultimate precision tool for the modern finesse angler who refuses to compromise on power. While the 2500 size is traditionally associated with lighter tactics, the Certate badge ensures this reel can punch well above its weight class. Featuring the debut of Airdrive Design, the 2024 model offers a level of operational smoothness and sensitivity that must be felt to be believed.

By combining a lightweight, high-response front end with the legendary rigidity of the Aluminium Monocoque (MQ) body, Daiwa has created a reel that is perfectly balanced for modern lure rods. Whether you are searching for subtle takes on a drop-shot rig or battling a hard-fighting estuary Bass, the 24 Certate LT2500D-H provides the feedback and reliability required for top-tier performance.

Key Features & Innovation

• Airdrive Design: This revolutionary evolution optimizes the Rotor, Spool, Bail, and Shaft. By reducing the weight and inertia of the front end, you get a weightless rotation that lets you feel every vibration of your lure.

• MQ Monocoque Aluminium Body: A single-piece frame that acts as a rigid, distorted-free vault for the internals. This design allows for a larger Tough Digigear, providing more cranking power and better durability than standard screw-plate bodies.

• MagSealed Protection: Daiwas unique magnetic oil seal is applied to the main shaft and line roller, creating a friction-free barrier against saltwater, sand, and grit.

• ZAION V Air Rotor: A specialized, high-strength carbon composite rotor that is significantly lighter than traditional materials, further enhancing the reels sensitivity.

• ATD Type-L Drag: The latest drag technology that provides a smoother, more consistent release of line on the strike, specifically designed to protect thin braids and light leaders from snapping during aggressive runs.

Where to Use the 24 Certate 2500D-H

• Estuary & Light Saltwater: The perfect size for targeting Bass and Sea Trout in calmer waters or estuaries. The 205g weight keeps your setup balanced for all-day casting.

• Specimen Perch & Zander: Use the incredible sensitivity of the Airdrive Rotor to detect the most delicate plucks when working small jigs or dropshot rigs.

• Medium River Spinning: Ideal for Salmon and Trout in smaller rivers where you need the 80cm retrieve speed to keep pace with the current, but enough drag to stop a charging fish in its tracks.

Gerrys Pro Tip

The 2500D-H is my personal pick for a do-it-all light lure reel. The 5.7:1 gear ratio is the sweet spotits faster than the standard models but has more torque than the XH. This makes it incredibly versatile. If youre fishing soft plastics, that 80cm retrieve is just right for picking up slack without moving the lure too much. Make sure to pair this with a high-quality PE 0.6 or 0.8 braid to really unlock the casting potential of the Longcast ABS spool!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What does the H in 2500D-H stand for?

A: The H stands for High Gear (5.7:1). It is faster than the standard ratio but offers a bit more cranking power than the XH (Extra High) gear. Its designed for anglers who want a balanced retrieve.

Q: Is this reel too small for Saltwater Bass?

A: Not at all. Thanks to the MQ Monocoque Body and 10kg drag, this reel has the strength of many 3000-sized competitors. Its a favorite for finesse saltwater anglers who want to keep their setup as light as possible.

Q: How often does the MagSeal need servicing?

A: MagSeal is designed for long-term protection, but we recommend an annual service by an authorized Daiwa center if you are using it frequently in saltwater. This ensures the magnetic oil remains at the correct level for maximum protection.

Q: Does it come with a spare spool?

A: Like all reels in the flagship Certate range, it is supplied with one high-performance spool. Spare spools can be ordered separately if you need to switch between different line weights.
