Daiwa Connoisseur Pro Match 14 3pc Rod Range

The Daiwa Connoisseur name is synonymous with the finest float rods in UK match fishing history. This 14ft 3pc model, available in a standard Waggler and an enhanced Power Float version, is designed to give the serious angler the ultimate advantage on demanding natural waters and long-range commercial venues. The increased length provides superior line control and casting leverage, making it essential for covering large areas.

Product Details and UK Fishing Uses

The 14ft model is a crucial tool for anglers fishing bigger, wider venues where extra reach is non-negotiable.

1. 14ft Waggler (CNPM14W-BU/CU)

This is the finesse version, designed for light-to-medium float fishing on rivers and stillwaters:

• Long-Range Waggler: Ideal for casting medium-sized wagglers and pellet wagglers further than a 13ft rod, especially on large reservoirs or commercial lakes where fish feed past the 40-yard mark.
• River Stick and Slider: The extra foot provides exceptional line control when running stick floats and sliders at distance on wide rivers like the Trent or Severn. It allows for better line pickup to hit subtle bites and keep the float running true in complex currents.
• Versatile Action: The blank offers a beautiful, progressive action that is soft enough to protect light hooklengths (down to 2lb) when targeting silverfish like roach and bream, but retains enough backbone to manage decent specimen fish.

2. 14ft Power Float (CNPM14P-BU/CU)

This is the stepped-up, high-performance option for when conditions and quarry demand more power:

• Distance Punching: The stiffer blank is built to punch bigger, heavier floats (up to 20g) into a headwind or to extreme distance, perfect for casting heavy wagglers or big slider rigs on vast natural waters like large gravel pits or lochs.
• Commercial Carp Control: Provides the necessary backbone to tame larger, harder-fighting commercial carp and tench immediately after the strike, preventing them from reaching snags.
• Heavy River Work: Excels on big, fast-flowing rivers when fishing with large chubber or bolo floats and heavier mainlines, giving the angler greater authority and control over big barbel and chub.

Advanced Technology & Premium Build

Both 14ft rods are built using Daiwas flagship carbon technologies, ensuring minimal weight and maximum performance:

• HVF Nanoplus (High Volume Fibre): Reduces the resin content in the carbon, creating a lighter, stronger, and more sensitive blank that retains a crisp, fast recovery rate for excellent casting accuracy.
• X45 Bias Carbon Technology: This unique carbon layering process eliminates blank twist (torque) during the cast, guaranteeing your float flies straight and true, improving accuracy at range.
• V-Joint Alpha: A sophisticated spigot joint technology that ensures a seamless curve and power transfer across the rod sections, making the 3-piece rod behave with the fluid action of a 1-piece.
• Ergonomic Air Sensor Reel Seat: A premium, lightweight reel seat that sits comfortably in the hand, enhancing feel and providing a secure lock for your chosen reel.
