25SALTIGA Spool

The lineup now includes the DRD14000 spool, a medium-sized spool not available as a genuine part, and the 25SALTIGA option spool.

Item Features

ATD TOUGH (8000-14000)
The ATD system operates smoothly in response to the fish’s pull and maintains its smooth performance. The ATD Tough uses carbon washers to achieve high durability. By pursuing smooth initial release and responsiveness, it is now possible to concentrate on the fight without worrying about the drag setting.
DRD (DRD14000-30000)
The DRD is a completely new drag mechanism that can withstand the repeated runs of large fish over long periods of time and prevents wear damage and seizing in the high drag range. Replacing the carbon washers used in conventional drags, the DRD washer is equipped with eight metal rollers on a single metal plate. It suppresses the decrease in drag force due to frictional heat and boasts durability more than five times that of carbon washers (*according to Daiwa comparative tests). Furthermore, it also contributes to the smoothness of the initial release.
*Standard equipment on DRD14000, 18000-30000.
When using the DRD14000 spool, it is necessary to replace it with the SALTIGA DRD Radiation Knob (sold separately).
LC-ABS SW
While the LC-ABS achieves smooth line release by optimizing the spool ring shape, the LC-ABS SW adopts a two-stage tapered shape on the upper side of the spool winding section toward the spool ring. This reduces frictional resistance with the line released from the deep diameter, resulting in a smooth casting feel and further improving release performance in the latter half of the cast. In particular, when using thick lines where the winding diameter changes significantly during casting, it contributes to an increase in casting distance of approximately 2%. It supports the angler’s desire to cast further. *Based on Daiwa comparative tests.

Precautions

*When installing the DRD14000 spool, you will need to purchase the separately sold DRD Radiation Knob.
*The 30000 spool is exclusively for the 25SALTIGA30000.
It cannot be installed on the 25SALTIGA18000-25000.
*Caution: Winding the line with excessively high tension may deform the spool. Please be careful not to apply too much line tension. When winding PE line, we recommend winding with a line tension of about 1.5 kg. When winding nylon line (including backing), we recommend winding with a line tension of about 300 g to avoid applying too much line tension.
