Key Features for All-Round Float Performance

Exceptional Balance and Reach: The 13ft length strikes a perfect balance, providing enough reach for superb line management and float control on medium-sized rivers and large stillwaters, while remaining highly comfortable and light enough for a full day of float fishing.
Rapid Strike Conversion: Equipped with a crisp, fast tip action, the rod transmits even the subtlest bites instantly. This action is paramount for improving striking speed and hooking efficiency, particularly when bagging up with small silverfish.
Distance Casting Capability: Built for distance, the rod has the power to launch floats to 10g and beyond, enabling you to reach feeding zones well out of range of shorter rods.
Progressive Fighting Power: The blank offers a forgiving tip for light tackle, but engages excellent reserves of power lower down. This confidence-inspiring backbone is vital for landing bigger specimens like strong chub, aggressive F1s, and modest carp safely.
Versatile Line Match: Designed to perform optimally with reel lines around 3lb to 6lb, giving you the flexibility to fish extremely fine for winter roach or step up the mainline when targeting larger commercial species.

Optimal Use: How and Where to Fish with the Vertex 13ft MK2

The 13ft Vertex Float is arguably the most versatile rod in the range, suited to nearly any float fishing discipline requiring distance and finesse.

Usage Scenario	Target Species	Why the 13ft Float Rod is Perfect
Large Stillwater Waggler	Bream, Tench, Carp (medium)	Ideal for general waggler fishing, providing the distance and control needed to manage the float in surface skim and gentle tow.
Medium Rivers	Chub, Dace, Roach	Provides great line management for upstream or downstream mending when using stick floats or heavy wagglers in moderate current.
Commercials (Open Water)	F1s, Skimmers	Excellent for fishing beyond the pole line or using lighter pellet wagglers, with a responsive tip that protects lighter hooklengths.
Match Fishing	All Species	The lightweight and balanced design ensures minimal fatigue during long match sessions where high strike rates and excellent control are essential.
