Duo Tide Minnow 175 Flyer – 17.5cm 29g

Duo Tide Minnow 175 Flyer 17.5cm | 29g: The Sinking Distance Master

The Duo Tide Minnow 175 Flyer is the specialized sinking version of the legendary Slim 175. At Gerrys Fishing, we find the Flyer to be particularly interesting for shore fishing because it takes the iconic 175 profile and optimizes it for extreme distance and difficult vantage points. By increasing the weight to 29g, Duo has created a lure that casts like a rocket and maintains its composure in the most turbulent coastal environments.

Designed to be used with mid-range sea bass tackle, the Flyer solves the traditional problems of large minnowssuch as excessive drag or clunky castingmaking it a refined tool for targeting Bass, Sea Trout, and Barracuda.

Engineering & Flyer Enhancements

• Sinking Stability: Unlike the floating version, the Flyer is a sinking lure. This weight adjustment allows you to retrieve the lure correctly to the last meter, preventing it from skipping out of the water as it approaches the shore or boat.

• High-Vantage Performance: This is the absolute reference lure for when an angler is standing high up, such as on a sea wall, quay, or rocky ledge. The extra weight keeps the lure submerged and tracking correctly even with a steep line angle.

• Tungsten Weight System: Utilizing a sophisticated moving weight system, the 175 Flyer cuts through the wind, waves, and currents typical of sea bass fishing, ensuring your cast reaches the strike zone every time.

• Reduced Drag Design: Duo has worked specifically on the aerodynamics and hydrodynamics to ensure that despite its 17.5cm length, there is not too much drag on the retrieve, allowing for a comfortable fishing experience.

Tactical Applications

The 175 Flyer is a formidable tool for the technical shore angler. The Gerrys team suggests:

• Pier and Wall Fishing: When fishing from elevated structures, the Flyer is a must-have. Its sinking nature ensures it stays underwater all the way to your feet, which is often where a following Bass will finally strike.

• Cutting Through Headwinds: On days when the wind is blowing directly into your face, the 29g Flyer provides the greater casting distances needed to reach the breakers.

• Vertical Exploration: Because it sinks, you can count the lure down into deeper water before commencing your retrieve, allowing you to search different layers of the water column.

• The Stop-and-Flutter: During the retrieve, a brief pause will allow the lure to flutter downwards. This mimicry of a dying sandeel or garfish is viciously effective at triggering reflex strikes.

Gerrys Verdict: The Duo Tide Minnow 175 Flyer (17.5cm/29g) is a top-tier Japanese sinking minnow that offers outstanding performance in challenging conditions. It provides the reach and depth control that floating minnows simply cannot match. If you fish from high marks or need to punch through a gale, the 175 Flyer is a high-value addition to your tackle box
