Morizo Shimizu’s first requirement for a crankbait is extremely simple: “Whether it’s a thick line or fast reeling, it must swim well.”
Behind this seemingly simple answer lies Morizo’s experience competing in tough American tournaments. Hidden in Mr. Morizo’s words, “Swim well.” as a tournament pro, is the superlative meaning for lures: “You can really believe in it and pull it down.”
“This Wild Hunch is a lure that I don’t want other tournament anglers to use.” Mr. Morizo’s words at the same time imply his absolute confidence in this lure.
The reason why Mr. Morizo has continued to perform amazing big bass and furious feeding scenes on TV, videos, magazines, and other media from the time of the pre-release prototype to the present is that Wild Hunch is the real, This is proof that this is a genuine shallow crank. Of course, on the American tour, he continues to accumulate achievements one after another, including being the driving force behind Morizo’s FLW 3rd place finish.
