Garbolino Rod Proxima Jetspin UL 5 – 0.5-5g 2sec

Garbolino Rod Proxima Jetspin UL 5 (0.5-5g)

The Garbolino Proxima Jetspin UL 5 is the ultra-compact sibling to the 6ft model, specifically engineered for the tightest fishing environments. At just 1.50m (5 feet), this rod is a specialist tool for small stream jungle fishing or urban street fishing where overhanging trees, bridges, and narrow walkways make longer rods a liability.

Constructed from High Resistance (HR) Carbon, this rod maintains a crisp tip action despite its short length. The 2-equal-section design ensures it is incredibly easy to transport, while the reverse fitting joint ensures the blank remains slim and responsive, providing maximum feedback from lures as light as 0.5g.

Technical Specifications

Key Performance Features

• Small-Water Specialist: The 5ft length is optimized for accuracy over distance. It allows for underhand flicks and bow-and-arrow casts in overgrown streams where a 6ft or 7ft rod would snag on every backcast.

• HR Carbon Sensitivity: Despite its diminutive size, the High Resistance carbon blank is fast, meaning it recovers instantly after a cast. This sensitivity allows you to detect the tiny ticks of a perch hitting a micro-jig on the drop.

• Technical Handle & Seat: Features a high-quality EVA and cork hybrid handle for comfort in all weather. The upward-screwing tubular reel seat includes a colored carbon insert that not only looks professional but aids in vibration transfer to the anglers hand.

• Streamlined Transport: Breaking down to just ~80cm, this rod is ideal for keeping in the boot of a car or strapped to a backpack for hiking to remote pools.

• Secure Bait Storage: Includes a fixed lure hook keeper, ensuring you can move safely between spots without your lure swinging freely and potentially damaging the fine carbon tip.

Ideal Usage Scenarios

• Small Stream Trout: The perfect choice for flicking 1g spinners into tiny pools for wild brownies.

• Urban Perch Fishing: Ideal for canal work, especially around locks and moored boats where you need to drop a lure vertically or make short, precise casts into shadows.

• Dense Bushcraft Angling: If youre bushwhacking to find untouched spots on a river, the 5ft length makes it much easier to navigate through thick brush without snagging.

• Lure Nomadic/Safari Style: Pairs perfectly with the Garbolino Safari series for anglers who travel light and fast.

Gerrys Tip: With a rod this short, loading the blank is key. Since you dont have the leverage of a longer rod, you should let the lures weight do the work. A 2g jig head is the sweet spot for this 5ft modelit provides enough weight to flex the tip for a high-velocity flick, giving you surprising distance for such a small rod
