The HTO Tic Tac 30g is a high-performance casting jig specifically engineered for the light-game and rock-fishing enthusiast. At 74mm, it perfectly bridges the gap between ultra-light finesse lures and heavy-duty metal jigs. Its compact, aerodynamic profile makes it a powerhouse on the cast, allowing you to reach offshore reefs and deep-water ledges that other lures simply cant touch.

Every Tic Tac is treated with HTOs specialized UV Blast coating. Since fish see ultraviolet light much better than humans, this coating acts as a beacon in deep or murky water where standard colors begin to fade. Combined with high-reflectivity patterns, the Tic Tac creates a frantic, flashing wounded baitfish action that triggers aggressive strikes from a massive variety of UK predatory species.

Why the HTO Tic Tac 30g is a Lure Box Essential

  • Superior Casting Reach: The 30g weight and 74mm body provide the punch needed to cut through a headwind, making it ideal for surf and shingle beach fishing.

  • UV Blast Technology: Treated with a UV-active coating that glows under the waters surface, providing a massive advantage on overcast days or in the grey light of dawn and dusk.

  • Shore Assist Rigged: Comes pre-fitted with a premium HTO Shore Assist hook featuring an integrated flash attractor. This setup significantly increases your hook-up rate while drastically reducing snags on the seabed.

  • High-Reflectivity Patterns: Multi-angle reflective finishes catch every available bit of light, providing a constant visual trigger during the retrieve.

  • Versatile Species Magnet: A proven winner for Pollack, Bass, Mackerel, Wrasse, Scad, and Garfish. It is also a secret weapon for specimen Perch in deep-water reservoirs.

Examples of Where to Use the HTO Tic Tac 30g

  • Rock Hopping for Pollack: Cast into deep gullies and let the jig sink. The assist hook setup allows you to bounce the lure closer to the kelp with a much lower risk of snagging than a traditional treble.

  • Pier & Breakwater Fishing: Perfect for searching the water column. Its 30g weight is ideal for standard 1040g lure rods, providing plenty of feedback through the blank.

  • Surf Fishing for Bass: When the wind is in your face and you need to reach the white water behind the breakers, the 30g Tic Tac provides the necessary distance.

Gerrys Fishing Pro Tip

The Tic Tac is most effective when worked with a sink and draw motion. Instead of a straight retrieve, give the rod three sharp, upward twitches followed by a 2-second pause on a semi-slack line. Most fish will hit the lure on the drop as it flutters and flashes downward. Because the Assist Hook is at the head, the fish will naturally target the eye end of the lure, leading to a much more secure hook-hold in the top of the mouth!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • Why is there only one hook at the top? This is a Shore Assist setup. Most predators strike the head of their prey, so the hook is exactly where it needs to be. More importantly, it keeps the business end away from the rocks and weed, meaning you lose far fewer lures to snags.

  • Does the UV Blast wear off? The UV coating is integrated into the finish, but like all metal jigs, it will take battle scars from hitting rocks. Even with a few chips, the lure remains incredibly effective as it adds to the damaged baitfish look.

  • Is 30g too heavy for my LRF rod? If you are using a dedicated LRF rod rated up to 7g or 10g, this will be too heavy. However, for a standard UK light-lure rod (rated 728g or 1040g), this is the perfect weight for maximum performance.

  • Can I use this for Mackerel? Absolutely! It is one of the best Mackerel lures on the market, especially when the fish are holding a bit further out or deeper in the water column.
