Savage Gear Alpha SG2 Trolling BC Rod

Savage Gear Alpha SG2 Trolling BC Big Bait Trolling Rod for Irish Waters

The Savage Gear Alpha SG2 Trolling BC is purpose-built for demanding big bait trolling techniques, including fishing with planer boards. Featuring a powerful yet forgiving moderate-fast action, this rod is designed to handle heavy lures while maintaining consistent pressure on hard-fighting fish.

The carefully tuned tip action absorbs wave movement and reduces unwanted triggering of planer boards, allowing baits to track cleanly and naturally. This controlled response also helps prevent hook pulls and line breaks during long fights, making it a reliable choice for sustained trolling sessions.

A full-length rear handle combined with an extended foregrip provides excellent leverage and comfort, whether fishing multiple rods from a boat or presenting large baits without planer boards.
