Shimano 24 Poison Adrena Casting 164LBFS 6’4 3.5-10g 1+1

Shimano 24 Poison Adrena Casting 164LBFS 64 3.5-10g 1+1pc The Ultimate BFS Precision Tool

The 2024 Shimano Poison Adrena 164LBFS (1+1 piece) represents the absolute pinnacle of Bait Finesse System (BFS) performance. While the 2-piece version offers convenience, the 1+1 piece (Handle Joint) model is the choice for the BFS purist. At Gerrys Fishing, we emphasize that by keeping the main blank as a single, unbroken piece of high-modulus carbon, Shimano has achieved a level of sensitivity and a true parabolic-finesse curve that is impossible to replicate in a mid-jointed rod.

This 64 Light (L) power rod is engineered to launch ultra-light lures from 3.5g to 10g with surgical precision. It is the definitive tool for technical stream fishing, urban street fishing, or any scenario where you need to feel every vibration of a micro-lure.

Key Specifications

Elite BFS Performance & Technology

• The 1+1 Piece Advantage: Because the joint is located at the handle, the active part of the rod is a single piece. This ensures a seamless transmission of energy during the cast and zero interference in vibration feedback. When working a 4g lure, the connection between the tip and your palm is direct and unfiltered.

• 128% Sensitivity Increase: The 2024 model features the upgraded Full Carbon Monocoque handle with an Opening End. This hollow carbon chamber acts as an amplifier; by removing the traditional butt cap, Shimano has boosted the vibration transmission by 128% compared to previous generations.

• Spiral X Core & UBD: Despite being a light finesse rod, the Spiral X Core construction provides incredible torsional rigidity. This prevents the blank from shimmering or twisting during high-speed BFS casts, allowing you to hit small targets with pinpoint accuracy.

• UBD (Ultimate Blank Design): This philosophy allows for a rod that is feather-light (approx. 85g) but remarkably resilient. The tip is soft enough to load with a micro-jig, yet the mid-section has the hidden power to control a hard-fighting predator.

• Perfection CI4+ XT Reel Seat: This ultra-lightweight seat is ergonomically sculpted for low-profile BFS reels. It facilitates a comfortable palming grip, placing your hand in constant contact with the resonant carbon blank for maximum tactile feedback.

Gerrys Pro Tip: If you have the means to transport a 166cm rod, the 1+1 piece 164LBFS is noticeably crisper than the 2-piece version. It is the perfect partner for a high-end BFS reel (like the Aldebaran or Curado BFS), creating a setup so light and sensitive that you can feel a perch breathing on your lure.
