Shimano Nexave C5000 HG

Shimano Nexave C5000 HG FJ Versatile Power & Performance

At Gerrys Fishing, we highly recommend the Shimano Nexave C5000 HG FJ for anglers who need a reel that punches well above its price bracket. The C stands for Compact Body, meaning you get the line capacity and dragging power of a 5000-sized spool on a frame that feels as light and maneuverable as a 4000. The HG signifies High Gear, providing a rapid line retrieve that is essential for working lures at speed or recovering line quickly when a fish runs toward you.

This latest FJ version has been upgraded with SilentDrive technology, which removes minute rattles and play within the internal gearing to provide a smooth, premium feel. Whether you are targeting hard-fighting pike and perch in freshwater or chasing sea bass in the salt, the Nexave FJ offers the reliability of Shimanos HAGANE engineering in an affordable, modern package.

Advanced Engineering for All-Rounders

The Nexave FJ isnt just a starter reel; it features the same G-Free Body technology found in Shimanos flagship models. By shifting the center of gravity closer to the rod, it significantly reduces fatigue during long sessions of repetitive casting. The AR-C Spool design, featuring a patented angled lip, ensures your line leaves the spool in smaller coils with less friction, translating to longer, more accurate castseven when using light braids.

Where & How to Use the Nexave C5000 HG

• Heavier Lure Fishing: The 5000-sized spool is perfect for larger lures and targeting species like pike, sea bass, and pollack.

• Saltwater Inshore: With its robust construction and shielded bearings, it is well-suited for shore spinning and light inshore boat work.

• Heavy Feeder Fishing: The 11kg drag and high retrieve make it a great choice for big river feeder fishing for barbel or distance casting on large carp lakes.

• Braid & Mono Versatility: The Anti-Twist Fin and Varispeed II oscillation ensure perfect line lay for both braided and monofilament lines, preventing wind knots and tangles.
