Shimano 7′ 10″ Outlier Swimbait Casting Rod, 2-Piece, 12-65lb.

Ready for the tactical challenges of technical swimbait fishing, the Shimano Outlier Swimbait Casting Rods offer anglers a focused series built to throw big baits to secure the largest fish of your favorite waterbody. The actions and tapers seen throughout its series are designed for maximum utility, durability, and sensitivity, achieving these qualities using some of the most advanced materials and innovative rod technologies on the market.

Performance Backed Blank Technologies:

Shimano incorporates both Spiral X and Hi-Power X technologies into the rod blank of the Outlier series, creating a blank that has top-tier compressional and torsional rigidity. Hi-Power X technology involves wrapping carbon tape up and down the length diagonally on the blanks outermost layer, reinforcing its twist resistance. The tape creates a visually noticeable “X” pattern that can be further refined with its winding angle, width, and specific location on the blank. Precise actions and strength are added for the more technique specific needs of the intended target species. Spiral X technology is made up of three layers, an inner and outer layer of Infinity Tape are tightly wound in opposite directions, with a layer of vertical fibers known as muscle carbon is in-between. The Infinity Tape cuts much of the weight needed to achieve the same strength as the traditional horizontal fibers, all for superior torsional rigidity and overall hoop strength. Ultimately both technologies work together enhancing casting accuracy and control for throwing big baits, with all the power needed to take on large fish.

Meticulous Design:

Strong, durable, and lightweight componentry run the length of each model in the Outlier series, such as the carbon fiber infused CI4+ reel seat. It locks down on your favorite big bait reel, with great ergonomics in hand for all day use. Fuji K-Frame guides with SiC inserts offer great casting performance yet handle all the strain from big bait throwing effortlessly. Finishing off the rod are custom EVA grips with a heat-shrink exterior, providing great comfort and superior grip retention to minimize angler fatigue, all while withstanding constant handling and overall hard use for seasons to come.
