Where & How to Use the W8 Precision Cast 9 M

• Elite Shore-Based Bass Fishing: The 9 length is the gold standard for UK and European coastlines. It provides the height to clear shoreline rocks and kelp, while the T1100GC carbon ensures pinpoint accuracy when threading the needle in tight rock gullies.

• Finesse in Pressured Waters: When the fish are shy, the sensitive M40JB carbon tip allows you to work smaller 10g15g lures with a level of nuance that standard rods simply cant match. Youll feel every pluck and tail-tap instantly.

• Targeting Pelagics (Bonito & Bluefish): While it feels like a finesse tool, the T1100GC reinforcement provides limitless lifting power. It has the hidden muscle to handle the erratic, high-speed lunges of hard-pulling predators without bottoming out.

Gerrys Pro Tip

The W8 Energy Release: Because this blank uses next-gen T1100GC carbon, it stores and releases energy significantly faster than the W2 or W4 series. To get the maximum distance with a 20g25g lure, dont over-power the cast with your arms. Use a smooth, accelerating sweep and let the high-modulus carbon do the heavy lifting. Youll find the lure cuts through the air with a much flatter, wind-cutting trajectory!

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes T1100GC carbon so special?

Toray T1100GC is the strongest carbon fiber in the world. It allows Westin to use less material to achieve higher strength, resulting in a rod that is significantly lighter and thinner than traditional blanks, but virtually impossible to break under normal fishing loads.

Why is there a unique serial number on each rod?

The W8 series is Westins flagship. Each rod undergoes rigorous quality control and is individually numbered to ensure it meets the highest standards of craftsmanship. It is a mark of exclusivity and a guarantee of the premium materials used.

What reel size balances best?

To maintain the Precision feel of this 270cm blank, we recommend a high-quality 3000 or 4000 size spinning reel. Pair it with a premium 8-strand braid (PE 1.0 or 1.2) for the ultimate direct contact casting experience
